Winter is cold in the Northern Hemisphere
The tilt of the Earth’s axis creates seasons on our planet. It’s an amazing thing, the universe’s plan! That aside, winter is cold for me, who lives in the Northern Hemisphere. It starts with the cold wind, then sleet, snow, icicles, and a slippery world of ice. My breath seems like steam, and I can’t wait for a hot meal.
The days go by, and as the crocuses and snowdrops begin to bloom, winter leaves its stage one step at a time.
北半球の冬は寒い
地軸の傾きが、アタシたちの惑星に季節を作ったって。すごいよね、宇宙の計らい！ それはそれとして、北半球住まいのアタシに冬は寒い。 木枯らしに始まって、みぞれ、雪はもちろん、氷柱（つらら）、ツルツル滑る氷の世界。。 あたしの吐く息は蒸気みたいね、暖かい食事が待ちきれない。
けれど、そのうちに日は巡り、クロッカスやスノードロップが咲きだすと、冬は一歩ずつ彼らの舞台から退場してゆく。
